Oregon – A sharp, biting cold grips Pendleton this morning, where temperatures have fallen into the upper 20s, leaving frost and a hard freeze across much of Umatilla County.

According to the National Weather Service, clear skies and light winds allowed temperatures to drop to around 28 degrees early, with wind chills dipping even lower. The cold start may impact early travel with isolated slick spots on bridges and shaded roads.

Sunshine takes over quickly today, helping temperatures rebound into the low 60s this afternoon. Roads dry out fast, and conditions remain favorable for travel along I-84 and surrounding routes.

The weekend brings a steady warming trend. Highs reach the mid-60s Saturday and low 60s Sunday under partly sunny skies. Mornings stay cold, so continue protecting plants and watching for patchy frost early in the day.

Changes arrive late Sunday night into Monday. Moisture moves in, bringing a chance of rain early, then a mix of rain and snow by late morning into the afternoon. While accumulation looks limited, brief bursts of snow could reduce visibility and create slick conditions.

By Tuesday and Wednesday, a wetter pattern settles in with periods of rain and cooler temperatures. Mountain areas nearby could see additional snow, especially at higher elevations.

Five Day Outlook for Pendleton, Oregon:
Saturday: Partly sunny, high near 64
Sunday: Partly sunny, high near 63
