Pendleton, Oregon – Unrelenting sunshine and soaring temperatures will grip Pendleton and surrounding areas this week, with highs climbing to 95°F by Thursday — the hottest stretch of July so far.

According to the National Weather Service in Pendleton, dry and sunny conditions will dominate the forecast through Saturday, with daily highs ranging from the upper 80s to mid-90s. Winds from the west and south could gust up to 24 mph Thursday afternoon, slightly easing the intense afternoon heat.

Pendleton will reach 87°F Tuesday, then jump to 93°F Wednesday before peaking at 95°F on Thursday. Overnight lows will remain mild, in the upper 50s to low 60s, offering little overnight relief from the heat. Light and variable winds during the evenings may keep nighttime conditions warm and stagnant.

Residents should limit outdoor activity during peak afternoon hours, hydrate regularly, and ensure pets and livestock have access to shade and water. This dry spell also raises the risk for wildfires — outdoor burning and spark-producing activities should be avoided.

Hot, sunny weather will continue into the weekend, though slight cooling begins Sunday. No rain is expected through Monday.
