WILMINGTON – A Woman is dead after being hit by a train in Wilmington.
According to Wilmington Police, it happened around 8:30 p.m. Thursday when the train hit the pedestrian at Chicago Street and N. Kankakee St.
Will County Coroner Laurie H. Summers has yet to identified the woman, pending family notification. A final cause of death will be determined at a later date.
Both Wilmington PD and AmTrak PD are investigating the incident.
