Wakefield, VA – The National Weather Service in Wakefield reports that skies will gradually clear this afternoon and evening, setting the stage for a cold and calm night across eastern and central Virginia.
Temperatures will fall into the low 20s inland and upper 20s to low 30s near the coast overnight. With the calm winds and clearing skies, patchy freezing fog may develop late tonight into early Sunday morning, especially across inland areas. Drivers should use caution during early morning travel where fog reduces visibility or moisture freezes on bridges and untreated roads.
Sunday will bring mostly sunny and cool conditions, with highs reaching the mid to upper 40s inland and near 50 along the coast.
By Monday, clouds will increase again with a chance of light rain or snow showers, mainly across inland Virginia and northeast North Carolina. No significant accumulation is expected.
