San Diego, CA – Drivers along California’s I-5 near San Diego should prepare for patchy fog this evening, which could reduce visibility to five miles or less. The fog is expected to persist overnight, posing potential hazards for those traveling late or early Saturday morning.

According to the National Weather Service, fog will linger through the morning hours, clearing by 11 a.m. on Saturday. Once the fog dissipates, residents can expect mostly sunny skies and a high near 79°F, with light winds making for a pleasant afternoon. However, fog will return late Saturday night, dropping temperatures to the mid-60s.

Sunday brings a break from the fog with sunny skies and highs reaching 80°F. The fog will make another appearance Sunday night before clearing out by Monday morning. Next week is expected to be warmer, with highs climbing to 83°F on Monday and remaining in the low 80s through Tuesday.

Motorists should use caution when driving through fog-prone areas and plan for potential delays. Drivers are encouraged to use fog lights and reduce speed to maintain safety during periods of low visibility, particularly along I-5 and other coastal roadways.
