Parts of Missouri, Illinois Under Tornado Watch Until Midnight

St. Louis, MO – A tornado watch has been issued for parts of Illinois and Missouri, effective until 12 AM CDT Wednesday.

According to the US National Weather Service in Saint Louis, the affected areas include Quincy, Columbia, Jefferson City, and St. Louis in Missouri, as well as Macomb, Jacksonville, and Galesburg in Illinois.

The watch indicates a likelihood of a few tornadoes, scattered hail up to two inches in size, and wind gusts reaching up to 75 mph. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department advises residents to stay weather aware and take necessary precautions.
