Parkville, MD – Detectives with the Baltimore County Police Department are continuing their investigation today into a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred Thursday afternoon on Rossville Boulevard in the Parkville area.

According to the Baltimore County Police Department, the crash happened around 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 13, near the intersection of Rossville Boulevard and Rolling View Avenue in Precinct 8. Investigators determined that 69-year-old Anthony Balsamo was attempting to cross Rossville Boulevard when he was struck by a westbound 2011 Chevrolet Tahoe.

Police said Balsamo was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Tahoe stopped immediately and remained at the location as officers arrived. No additional injuries were reported. Members of the department’s Crash Team are handling the investigation, which remains active as detectives review roadway conditions, witness statements, and any available surveillance video.

Rossville Boulevard is a heavily traveled corridor connecting Parkville, Rosedale, White Marsh, and surrounding communities in eastern Baltimore County, and police did not announce any road closures following the crash. However, detectives noted that additional details could be released as the investigation progresses.

As the region heads into the busy holiday season—when shopping traffic, early nightfall, and increased pedestrian activity typically lead to higher crash risks—Baltimore County Police are urging both drivers and walkers to slow down, stay aware of their surroundings, and make safety a priority. Officers emphasized that simple steps such as using crosswalks, avoiding distractions, and reducing speed can significantly reduce the risk of serious collisions.

Residents who witnessed the crash or who may have relevant information are encouraged to contact Baltimore County Police.
