Palos Park, IL – The Village of Palos Park will host its annual Spring Fishing Derby at Papoose Lake on Saturday, April 12th, 2025. This exciting community event is set to kick off at 8:00 a.m., with registration starting at 8:00 a.m. and fishing beginning at 8:30 a.m.

The event, which runs until 11:30 a.m., is being held in partnership with the Forest Preserves of Cook County. Children under the age of 16 can participate without the need for a fishing license, making it a perfect outing for families looking to enjoy the outdoors together.

According to the event organizers, the day will feature a variety of prizes for the best catches, and local community members are encouraged to attend and join in the fun. The free day-of registration provides a convenient option for those who decide to join on the morning of the event.
