Paducah, KY – The National Weather Service in Paducah says confidence is growing that light snow, sleet, or freezing rain could develop Monday night into Tuesday morning, bringing the potential for minor travel impacts across western Kentucky, southern Illinois, southeast Missouri, and southwest Indiana.

Forecasters warn that precipitation type remains uncertain, depending on the exact track of the system. A light wintry mix could lead to slippery or slushy roads, particularly for the Tuesday morning commute. Areas north of Paducah, including Carbondale, Mount Vernon, and Evansville, have the highest chances for snow, while southern counties could see more sleet or freezing rain.

Temperatures will stay below freezing most nights this week, ensuring any moisture that falls may freeze quickly. The region will also remain cold and dry midweek, with highs mainly in the 30s and 40s.

Residents are urged to monitor updates, secure alternate travel plans, and check road conditions before heading out Monday night or early Tuesday.
