Paducah, Kentucky – Canadian wildfire smoke will continue to haze the skies across western Kentucky today and Saturday, even as dry air and mild temperatures create a pleasant start to August.

According to the National Weather Service in Paducah, high pressure will keep conditions mostly sunny and humidity levels low through Sunday. Daytime highs will sit in the mid-80s with overnight lows dropping to the upper 60s, though visibility could be reduced at times due to elevated smoke.

By Monday, more typical summer conditions return with increasing humidity and daily chances of showers and thunderstorms through midweek. Isolated strong storms can’t be ruled out by Tuesday and Wednesday, especially during peak afternoon hours.

Residents in Paducah, Murray, and Cape Girardeau should use caution during outdoor activity today and Saturday due to the smoke. Sensitive groups may notice slight respiratory irritation even if surface smoke remains light.

Expect a more active weather pattern beginning Monday with a heightened risk of travel disruptions due to scattered downpours and lightning. Updates will continue as new advisories are issued.
