Paducah, Kentucky – Light snow is possible late tonight in Paducah, followed by dangerous cold with wind chills dropping near zero later this weekend.

According to the National Weather Service in Paducah, the chance of light snow has increased overnight, with a dusting possible late tonight into early Friday morning. Snow chances are highest near and east of the Mississippi River, though no major travel impacts are expected at this time.

Even minimal snow could create slick spots on bridges, overpasses, and elevated roads, especially as temperatures remain near or below freezing overnight. The most sensitive travel window runs from midnight through the Friday morning commute.

Looking ahead, forecasters highlight dangerous cold Sunday morning and again Tuesday morning, when wind chill values are expected to drop to near 0 degrees across northern portions of the Quad State, including western Kentucky.

These wind chills increase the risk of frostbite with prolonged exposure, particularly during early-morning hours. Actual air temperatures will be low enough that any lingering moisture could refreeze overnight.

Residents are urged to use caution while driving late tonight, dress in layers during cold mornings, and ensure pets, pipes, and sensitive plants are protected. Even brief outdoor exposure Sunday and Tuesday mornings could be hazardous without proper clothing.

Conditions are expected to improve during daytime hours, but cold mornings remain the primary concern into early next week.
