Paducah, KY – Residents across the Tri-State area are being urged to protect sensitive plants and outdoor vegetation as a Frost Advisory goes into effect overnight, according to the US National Weather Service Paducah.

The advisory covers southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, and western Kentucky, including the Pennyrile region. Temperatures are expected to fall into the mid- to upper 30s by early Friday morning, with isolated spots in the Wabash Valley potentially dipping near freezing.

The Frost Advisory is active from 1 a.m. to 8 a.m. CDT Friday, with the coldest conditions expected around sunrise. Forecasters recommend covering tender plants or bringing them indoors to prevent frost damage.

After a cold start, Friday is expected to turn sunny and seasonable, offering a brief warm-up heading into the weekend.
