Paducah, Ky. – A string of cooler-than-normal days continues across western Kentucky, but a brief chance of showers could interrupt the stretch of sunshine Thursday before conditions turn dry again for Labor Day weekend.
According to the National Weather Service in Paducah, temperatures will hover in the upper 70s to low 80s through midweek with clear skies and low humidity. A weak disturbance may bring scattered showers Thursday afternoon across southeast Missouri, southwest Illinois and into western Kentucky, but rain chances remain limited to around 20 percent.
Highs in Paducah will climb to near 80 degrees Thursday before warming into the mid-80s Friday and Saturday under mostly sunny skies. Nighttime lows will dip into the mid- to upper-50s, keeping mornings comfortably cool. The holiday weekend looks favorable for outdoor plans, with sunny to partly cloudy skies and highs in the low- to mid-80s through Labor Day.
Travelers should watch for brief wet roads Thursday, but no widespread flooding or severe weather is expected. Officials encourage residents to take advantage of the dry stretch for outdoor events, but still plan for extra water and shade during midday warmth.
