Paducah, KY – Clear skies and light winds will allow frost to form across portions of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, and western Kentucky overnight, according to the US National Weather Service Paducah.

Lows are expected to fall into the mid-30s to near 40°F, with frost likely developing late Thursday night into early Friday morning, particularly across sheltered and low-lying areas. Residents are encouraged to protect sensitive outdoor plants and vegetation.

High pressure will keep the region mostly dry through Saturday, bringing mild afternoons with highs ranging from the low 60s to upper 60s. A few light showers may brush southeast Missouri Friday or Saturday, but widespread rain is not expected until Saturday night into Sunday, when a new system moves through.

After the cold start, warmer daytime conditions and a mild weekend will provide a brief break before wetter weather arrives.
