Paducah, Kentucky – Dry skies and rising heat will dominate Kentucky weather through Sunday, with daytime highs climbing into the mid-90s and no measurable rain expected for at least seven days. The unrelenting sun is intensifying drought conditions across western parts of the state, raising fire danger in already dry areas.
According to the National Weather Service in Paducah, summer-like temperatures will persist through the weekend, with average highs near 94°F and overnight lows staying in the upper 60s. The dry pattern is expected to linger into next week, further drying out vegetation and soil.
Fire danger is a growing concern, especially in counties like Graves, Calloway, and McCracken, where the recent lack of rainfall has pushed moisture levels to near-critical lows. Residents are urged to avoid outdoor burning, secure trailer chains to prevent roadside sparks, and report any signs of wildfire immediately.
No significant cold front or moisture system is expected to break the heat before mid-next week. As a result, the region may see elevated burn restrictions issued if current trends continue.
Updates are expected from the NWS Paducah office as conditions evolve. Outdoor plans should include extra water, shade, and sunscreen.
