Paducah, Kentucky – Cooler temperatures are returning to western Kentucky Friday following the passage of a cold front, with additional rain expected later tonight into Saturday morning.

According to the National Weather Service in Paducah, lingering showers will exit parts of west Kentucky Friday morning, followed by cooler air filtering into the region. From mid-morning onward, temperatures are expected to remain primarily in the lower half of the 50s, with highs ranging from the low 50s to mid-60s depending on location.

Rain chances will increase again tonight as another area of precipitation overspreads portions of the region. Forecasters said additional rain will continue into Saturday morning, before gradually tapering off. No severe weather is expected with this round of rainfall.

Saturday is expected to remain cool and unsettled at times, with daytime highs ranging from the upper 40s to upper 50s. Overnight lows Saturday night are forecast to drop into the mid-20s, as a stronger surge of colder air moves into the Ohio and Tennessee valleys.

By Sunday, noticeably colder conditions are expected across the Paducah area. High temperatures are forecast to remain between 35 and 42 degrees, with morning lows in the lower to mid-20s. The National Weather Service noted that the colder air will bring a more winterlike feel to the region after several mild days.

While rainfall amounts are not expected to cause flooding issues, periods of wet roads are likely tonight and early Saturday. Drivers should use caution during overnight and early-morning travel, particularly where rain persists.

Conditions are expected to turn drier later Saturday, with colder but calmer weather continuing into Sunday. Residents are encouraged to monitor forecast updates as temperatures and rain timing continue to be refined.
