Thunderstorms are expected to bring pockets of light rain to the Paducah region on Thursday, April 10, according to the National Weather Service. The storms, which will occur in the afternoon and evening, are likely to bring light rainfall, with totals ranging from 0.10 to 0.25 inches across much of the area. However, some areas may experience higher rainfall amounts, up to half an inch, under heavier thunderstorm activity.

This isolated to scattered nature of the thunderstorms means that precipitation totals will remain relatively low, reducing the likelihood of flash flooding concerns or significant impacts on river levels. While the rain is expected to be light, residents should still stay alert for potential localized downpours in the heaviest thunderstorms.

The NWS has assured that the rainfall should not be heavy enough to create flash flood conditions, making it a manageable event for the region. Areas like Paducah, Evansville, and the surrounding counties will likely see sporadic bursts of rain throughout the day, but no widespread flooding is expected.
