Paducah, KY – Residents across western Kentucky will see hot, dry conditions continue through Thursday, with highs climbing into the low to mid-90s. Relief may arrive this weekend as rain chances return and temperatures dip slightly into the upper 80s.

According to the National Weather Service in Paducah, Wednesday and Thursday will bring mostly sunny skies with highs between 91 and 95 degrees. While the region is no stranger to September heat, forecasters note the prolonged stretch of above-average temperatures.

By Friday, clouds will increase with a small chance of showers late in the day. Highs will range from 89 to 93 degrees. A more noticeable shift is expected Saturday and Sunday, when scattered showers and thunderstorms could develop across the area. Temperatures are forecast to hold in the 87 to 90-degree range through the weekend.

Forecasters emphasized that while this won’t be a “drought buster,” any rainfall will be welcomed after several dry weeks. The chance for precipitation may also help ease the persistent heat, though humidity levels could rise with storm activity.

Residents are encouraged to stay hydrated, limit strenuous outdoor activity during peak afternoon heat, and keep an eye on updated forecasts as the weekend approaches.
