Kentucky, State – Light snow showers fade quickly this morning, but not before leaving brief slick spots on bridges and rural roads across western Kentucky. Visibility may dip early, and wet pavement could turn patchy in colder pockets. Conditions improve fast after sunrise, with skies brightening by late morning.

According to the National Weather Service in Paducah, a 20% chance of snow showers lingers before 8 a.m., followed by gradual clearing and a high near 62°F. Southwest winds may gust up to 22 mph, drying roads through midday. Drivers along I-24 and U.S. 60 should still watch for isolated slick patches early.

Clouds return tonight, with temperatures settling near 43°F. That keeps roads mostly wet but not icy. By Thursday, a noticeable shift begins. Sunshine breaks through with highs near 72°F, marking the start of a steady warm-up across McCracken County and southern Illinois border communities like Metropolis.

Friday brings the real surge. Temperatures jump to 78°F under full sun as the first day of spring arrives. Outdoor plans should benefit, but rapid warming may create glare and soft pavement conditions on heavily traveled roads.

The weekend pushes even warmer. Highs reach 81°F Saturday and 83°F Sunday, with gusty winds near 20 mph at times. Expect increased travel, especially near Kentucky Lake and Land Between the Lakes. Stay hydrated and secure loose outdoor items.

Looking ahead, above-normal warmth expands across the Midwest into early next week. For now, stay cautious early today, then prepare for a fast transition into spring heat.

Five Day Forecast for Paducah, Kentucky:
Wednesday: High 62°F, early snow showers then clearing
Thursday: High 72°F, partly sunny
Friday: High 78°F, sunny and warm
Saturday: High 81°F, sunny
Sunday: High 83°F, sunny and breezy
