Paducah, KY – Strong southerly winds are expected to develop this afternoon across western Kentucky, southeast Missouri, and southern Illinois, bringing gusts up to 35 mph, according to the US National Weather Service Paducah.

Forecasters say conditions will remain dry and mild through Thursday, with near-normal temperatures in the upper 60s to upper 70s during the day and lows in the 40s overnight. The breezy pattern will persist through midweek before a cooler and wetter trend arrives Friday.

According to the forecast, rain chances increase to 40–60% Friday and Saturday, followed by a smaller 20–40% chance of showers on Sunday. Highs will drop slightly into the mid-60s as the front moves through, bringing a fall-like feel to the region.

Residents in Paducah, Cape Girardeau, and Carbondale should secure outdoor items today and use caution while driving high-profile vehicles in windy conditions. The late-week rain could bring slippery roads, though no severe weather is anticipated at this time.
