PORTLAND, OR – The National Weather Service in Portland is forecasting a wet weekend ahead, with steady rain returning late Friday night into Saturday, bringing the potential for one inch or more of rain in parts of northwest Oregon and southwest Washington.
According to the NWS, rain chances increase after midnight Friday, continuing through Sunday morning (4 a.m.). The heaviest rainfall is expected along the north Oregon coast and south Washington coast, where probabilities for one inch or more reach 90% to 100%.
Inland areas, including Portland (40%), McMinnville (49%), and Salem (29%), could see moderate rainfall totals, while Eugene and Corvallis face lower but notable chances of showers through the weekend.
Forecasters note the system may bring slick road conditions and reduced visibility, especially during early Saturday travel. The rain is expected to taper off gradually by Sunday morning.
Residents are advised to keep umbrellas and rain gear handy, and to monitor updates from weather.gov/portland for local advisories or changes in rainfall intensity.
