Portland, OR – The National Weather Service in Portland says a wet stretch of weather will continue across northwest Oregon and southwest Washington, with periods of moderate to heavy rain expected from Wednesday night through early next week.
The next system arrives late tonight into Thursday morning, bringing widespread rain that could lead to rising water levels on local streams and rivers, as well as ponding on roads and low-lying areas.
Forecast models show daily rainfall totals of 0.5 to over 1 inch across coastal and valley communities, including Astoria, Portland, Eugene, and Kelso. The heaviest totals are expected along the coast and in the Cascade foothills.
Residents are advised to clear storm drains and gutters, avoid flooded roads, and monitor updates through the National Weather Service and local emergency management offices. While major flooding is not expected, minor nuisance flooding and travel delays are possible in poor drainage areas.
