Grafton, WI – Three construction workers were injured Friday morning after a roof partially collapsed at a worksite in the Town of Grafton, according to the Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident occurred around 9:45 a.m. at a construction site in the 300 block of North Port Washington Road. Deputies say the workers were installing roof trusses on a 60-by-60-foot storage condominium unit when the north wall bowed and the roof gave way.

According to the sheriff’s office, the three workers fell about 16 feet. All suffered non-life-threatening injuries, though one became trapped under debris before being freed by first responders.

The Ozaukee Central Fire Department led the rescue operation, cutting through trusses to reach the trapped worker. All three victims were taken to Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa for treatment.

Town of Grafton building inspectors and representatives from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) also responded to assess the site. Authorities said the cause of the collapse remains under investigation.

Multiple agencies assisted at the scene, including the Ozaukee Central, Port Washington, Cedarburg, and Southern Ozaukee fire departments, along with the county drone team and emergency management officials.
