Springfield, MO – The Ozarks are off to a calm and comfortable start this November, but forecasters say not to get too cozy—a shift toward colder, more unsettled weather may be coming just in time for Thanksgiving.

According to the NOAA Climate Prediction Center (CPC) update issued October 24, 2025, southern Missouri, northern Arkansas, and eastern Oklahoma are expected to see above-normal temperatures and below-average precipitation through the first half of the month. That points to dry, mild fall conditions, but forecasters are watching the final week of November closely.

As colder air slides in from the Central Plains, the Ozarks could see overnight lows dip near freezing, with a few light flurries possible in higher terrain north of Branson and Fayetteville. No major storms are expected yet, but Thanksgiving week could bring the first true taste of winter across the region.
