Springfield, MO – Residents across the Missouri Ozarks and extreme southeast Kansas can expect a stretch of hot and mostly dry weather through Monday, with afternoon highs consistently reaching into the 90s.

According to the US National Weather Service Springfield office, daily highs from Friday through Monday are forecast to range between 92 and 98 degrees, while nighttime lows will stay milder, hovering in the mid-60s to upper 60s. Meteorologists noted that most areas will remain dry throughout the period, with only partly cloudy conditions expected at times.

Friday and Saturday will bring mostly sunny and hot conditions, with highs topping out near the mid-90s. By Sunday and Monday, skies turn partly cloudy, but temperatures remain nearly unchanged, keeping heat a concern for outdoor activities.

Forecasters advise residents to take standard heat precautions, including staying hydrated, avoiding prolonged time outdoors during peak afternoon hours, and checking on vulnerable neighbors and pets. The warm spell marks a continuation of above-average September temperatures for the region, with no significant rain expected to provide relief.

The extended hot and dry stretch may also increase strain on those with outdoor work, travel plans, or health sensitivities to high temperatures.
