Springfield, MO – A cool and damp weekend is on tap for the Ozarks, with off-and-on rain showers expected through Sunday, according to the National Weather Service in Springfield.
Forecasters say the highest rain chances and heaviest amounts will occur southwest of Springfield, mainly west of Highway 65. While no severe weather or flooding is anticipated, light rain will continue periodically across the region through the weekend.
High temperatures are forecast to remain below seasonal averages, reaching the upper 50s to lower 60s, with overnight lows dipping into the 40s. Winds will stay steady from the southeast at 10–15 mph, with occasional gusts near 20 mph.
The NWS notes that outdoor activities—such as fall festivals, football games, and Halloween events—should plan for intermittent showers and cool air, but no major weather disruptions are expected. Drier conditions may return early next week.
