Springfield, MO – Southwest Missouri is waking up to another cold morning, with wind chills dipping into the single digits to mid-teens across the region, according to the US National Weather Service in Springfield.
High temperatures today will reach only the upper 20s to upper 30s, keeping conditions well below normal for early December. A weak disturbance could bring a 10–15% chance of flurries along the Missouri-Arkansas border, though little to no accumulation is expected.
Friday will bring more sunshine and slightly warmer conditions, with highs climbing into the mid-40s. Another weak system moves in Saturday, bringing a 15–30% chance of rain or snow showers, mainly overnight into early Sunday.
The extended outlook calls for cloudy skies Sunday and Monday, with highs in the upper 30s to mid-40s, before a gradual warmup begins midweek.
The Weather Service reminds residents to dress warmly during the morning hours, as wind chills near 5°F can still cause discomfort or mild frostbite with prolonged exposure.
