Springfield, MO – Residents across southwest Missouri can expect a warm and mostly dry weekend before a slight chance of showers arrives early next week.

According to the National Weather Service in Springfield, Saturday and Sunday will remain sunny with highs ranging from 83 to 88 degrees and overnight lows in the mid-50s to low 60s. Conditions are expected to stay calm and dry, making for good outdoor plans through the weekend.

Forecasters say a weak system could bring scattered rain chances Monday and Tuesday, with probabilities at 20 to 30 percent. Highs will stay in the low to mid-80s on Monday before dipping into the upper 70s by Tuesday. Lows will remain mild in the upper 50s.

By Wednesday, a cooler trend sets in with highs near 74 to 80 degrees and a slight 10 percent rain chance. Thursday’s forecast calls for dry skies and temperatures in the upper 70s, with overnight lows dropping to around 50 degrees.

Meteorologists emphasized that widespread rainfall is not expected, and any showers that do develop will remain spotty.

This stretch of warm and dry weather continues Missouri’s early October trend of above-average temperatures, providing residents with extended late-summer conditions.
