Springfield, MO – A cold front moving through the Ozarks this morning will bring a cool and cloudy end to the weekend, accompanied by gusty winds and spotty drizzle. According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Springfield, highs today will range from 38°F to 48°F under mostly cloudy skies.
The front will shift winds from the north at 15 to 25 mph, keeping conditions breezy and damp through the afternoon. “A cold front will move through this morning keeping us cloudy and cool for the rest of the day,” the NWS said early Sunday. “Drizzle will occur with this frontal passage and northerly winds will gust up to 25 mph.”
By tonight, skies will begin to clear partially, allowing temperatures to dip into the low to mid-20s across much of southern Missouri. The cold air will linger into Monday morning before sunshine returns to start the workweek.
Drivers should be prepared for slick patches on elevated roads and bridges early Monday as leftover moisture meets colder overnight temperatures.
