Florida – Three weeks after Hurricane Milton’s devastating landfall, Florida communities remain heavily impacted by floodwaters. More than 4,600 homes suffered extensive or complete destruction, leaving many without shelter. The American Red Cross has deployed over 350 disaster responders to assist affected residents across the state.

According to the Red Cross, hundreds have sought refuge in emergency shelters as they wait for floodwaters to recede. In regions where residents can return, Red Cross emergency response vehicles are providing critical supplies, including warm meals, drinking water, and other essentials.

The Red Cross, with partner support, has already distributed over 75,000 meals and snacks, along with 60,000 relief items, to families in need. Volunteers and staff are working around the clock to bring aid and provide comfort to displaced individuals.

For continued updates and recovery stories, the Red Cross encourages followers to visit its local chapters’ social media pages. Each division provides insights into recovery efforts, giving the public a closer look at the ongoing support efforts in Florida.
