Oswego, IL – High Student Referred to Juvenile Court After On-Campus Incident

Oswego, IL – A 17-year-old male student from Montgomery was arrested Tuesday at Oswego High School after allegedly possessing alcohol on campus and resisting arrest, according to the Oswego Police Department.

Police said the incident occurred around 12:02 p.m. on October 7, 2025, when school staff requested help from the school’s resource officer during an investigation involving the student. According to the report, the teen was disruptive and non-compliant with both school staff and the officer, prompting additional officers to respond.

The student was taken into custody and transported to the Oswego Police Department. Police said he was charged with possession of alcohol by a minor, consumption of alcohol by a minor, and resisting arrest — all Class A misdemeanors.

Authorities confirmed no one was injured during the incident. The juvenile was released to his parents after being issued a referral for charges and will await a court date through the juvenile justice system.

Police emphasized that all charges are accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
