Constantia, NY – A 35-year-old man was killed early Wednesday morning, October 8, 2025, after a single-vehicle crash on County Route 17 in Oswego County, according to the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said the crash occurred around 12:07 a.m. between Cook Road and Roosevelt Road in the Town of Constantia. A preliminary investigation revealed that a 2002 Volkswagen GTI was traveling north when the driver lost control, veered off the west side of the roadway, overturned, and struck a tree.

According to authorities, the operator—identified as Michael Poli, 35, of Constantia—was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Oswego County Sheriff’s Office said they were assisted by the New York State Police, Cleveland Volunteer Fire Department, and Menter Ambulance.

Investigators are still working to determine what caused the crash.
