Orlando, FL – Warm spring temperatures will continue in Central Florida on Friday, but weekend storms could bring hazardous conditions, including dangerous rip currents at area beaches.
According to the National Weather Service in Melbourne, Friday will be mostly sunny, with temperatures reaching the low 80s. Winds will shift southeast at 5 to 10 mph by the afternoon. Overnight, skies remain mostly clear, with lows dropping to the mid-60s.
By Saturday, the warm trend continues, with highs near 88°F. However, winds will increase, with gusts reaching up to 20 mph. Clouds will build in the evening ahead of Sunday’s storm chances. A slight chance of showers and isolated thunderstorms could develop Sunday afternoon, with the potential for stronger storms overnight into Monday.
Beachgoers should take caution as a moderate to high risk of rip currents remains in effect through late next week. The NWS advises avoiding swimming in the Atlantic, especially at night. Boaters should also prepare for rough waters as southerly winds strengthen over the weekend.
Looking ahead, Monday will see lingering rain chances before clearing skies return by Tuesday. Highs will stay in the mid-70s, with overnight lows in the upper 50s.
Residents should stay updated on weather alerts, especially those planning outdoor activities this weekend.
