ORLANDO, Fla. – Central Florida will see another stretch of stormy afternoons this week as humid air and onshore winds fuel daily showers and thunderstorms across the Orlando metro area through Thursday. Highs will stay near the upper 80s, but muggy air and lightning could slow commutes and disrupt outdoor plans.

According to the National Weather Service in Melbourne, the highest rain chances arrive Monday and Tuesday, with storms likely developing after 11 a.m. and lasting into the early evening. Some storms may bring gusts near 30 mph and brief downpours, especially east of Interstate 4.

By midweek, showers taper slightly but remain possible through Thursday night before drier air begins to move in Friday. East and northeast winds will stay around 10 to 15 mph, helping push storms inland each afternoon.

Residents are urged to watch for ponding on roadways during evening rush hours and seek shelter during lightning activity. Skies should clear heading into the weekend with lower humidity and highs in the low 80s.
