The Orlando area is starting Monday with noticeably cooler and breezier weather after a cold front moved through Central Florida overnight. While temperatures are lower than recent days, the coldest air remains well north of the region, keeping conditions cool but not extreme.
High temperatures on Monday are expected to reach around 63 degrees in Orlando, with nearby cities seeing similar readings. Leesburg tops out near 62 degrees, Daytona Beach around 63, Melbourne near 66, and Port St. Lucie close to 69 degrees. The temperature difference from north to south reflects the moderating influence of the Gulf Stream, which helps reduce the chill along the Treasure Coast.
Winds are the main story today. Although winds briefly eased overnight inland, northwest winds will increase again after sunrise, with gusts reaching 25 to 30 mph inland. Along the coast, especially during the morning hours, gusts up to 35 mph are possible. These gusty conditions will make temperatures feel cooler than the actual readings, particularly during the early part of the day.
Marine and beach conditions remain hazardous. The National Weather Service warns of dangerous surf, strong rip currents, and hazardous boating conditions along the Atlantic coast. Residents and visitors are urged not to enter the surf, and small craft operators should remain in port until conditions improve.
Skies will be mostly sunny to partly cloudy throughout the day, and despite the breeze, rain is not expected. Winds should gradually ease later this afternoon and evening, allowing conditions to become more comfortable overnight.
Overall, Monday in Orlando brings a cool-down to the low 60s, gusty winds, and lingering coastal hazards. While it may feel chilly compared to recent warmth, the lack of extreme cold keeps this front manageable, signaling a mild but blustery start to the week across Central Florida.
