Orlando, FL – Patchy dense fog and dangerous beach conditions are expected across east central Florida Saturday, creating potential travel and safety hazards.

According to the National Weather Service in Melbourne, dense fog may develop early Saturday morning, primarily near, north, and west of Interstate 4. Visibility could drop below one mile at times, especially in low-lying areas and along roadways during the early commute hours. Motorists are urged to slow down, increase following distance, and use low-beam headlights where fog is encountered.

Aside from the morning fog, warm and dry conditions are expected to persist throughout the day, with afternoon high temperatures climbing into the mid to upper 70s across much of the region. Forecast highs include around 77 degrees in Orlando, Sanford, Kissimmee, and Melbourne, with upper 70s near the Treasure Coast, including Port St. Lucie and Stuart.

While inland weather conditions improve after fog dissipates, the National Weather Service warns of a high risk of life-threatening rip currents at all central Florida Atlantic beaches. Dangerous surf conditions are expected to continue throughout the day, even under mostly dry and pleasant weather. Officials strongly advise swimmers to stay out of the ocean, as rip currents can quickly overpower even experienced swimmers.

Beachgoers who enter the water are urged to swim only near lifeguards and to heed posted warnings. Those caught in a rip current should remain calm, float, and signal for help rather than attempting to swim directly back to shore.

The National Weather Service recommends monitoring local forecasts for updates, especially for travelers heading out early Saturday or those planning coastal activities.
