Orlando, FL – Florida’s early October weather is serving up a taste of summer before a soggy weekend moves in. Commuters and outdoor workers should prepare for rising heat and muggy afternoons through Thursday before showers make a return Friday.

According to the National Weather Service in Melbourne, Orlando will see mostly sunny skies Thursday, October 9, with highs near 85°F and light northeast winds up to 15 mph. Those attending fall festivals or working along I-4 and Colonial Drive can expect warm, dry conditions ideal for outdoor activities.

However, forecasters warn that a chance of showers and thunderstorms increases Friday, particularly by the afternoon and evening hours. Rain chances jump to 60%, which could affect evening commutes and weekend events. Drivers are urged to check road conditions before traveling, especially across Orange and Seminole counties.

Looking ahead, Saturday remains humid with scattered showers possible, while Sunday begins to dry out under partly sunny skies and highs near 82°F. By early next week, cooler air may slide in, bringing more comfortable fall-like mornings—just in time for pumpkin patch season and early Halloween decorating.

Residents should monitor updates and plan accordingly for changing conditions as Florida’s fall weather pattern begins to shift toward cooler, breezier days.
