Orlando, FL – East Central Florida residents can expect a breezy and mostly dry Saturday, but forecasters warn of moderate rip current risks at area beaches that may increase into Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service in Melbourne, rain chances remain low at 20% today, with highs reaching around 90°F inland and the mid-80s along the coast. Breezy to gusty winds will bring isolated showers, but most areas will stay dry. Beachgoers, however, should use caution as rip currents are likely in the surf zone.

Moisture levels will increase early next week, pushing rain and storm chances higher. By Monday and Tuesday, scattered afternoon thunderstorms are expected, with rain coverage reaching 40–50% across Orlando, Melbourne, Daytona Beach, and Fort Pierce. Temperatures will hold in the upper 80s to low 90s, but heat indices could climb into the triple digits by midweek.

On Wednesday, forecasters expect heat indices between 100 and 105°F alongside scattered storms. Coastal hazards will continue, with rip current risks persisting through much of the week.

The National Weather Service urges swimmers to stay near lifeguards and use extra caution if visiting Daytona, Space, and Treasure Coast beaches, where surf heights may reach 3 to 4 feet.
