Orland Park, IL – Due to elevated levels of the West Nile Virus, the South Cook County Mosquito Abatement District (SCCMAD) will conduct adult mosquito control operations in the Village of Orland Park. The village, which includes all areas within Cook County, will be sprayed over two nights.
The mosquito control operations are scheduled for Monday, August 12, and Tuesday, August 13. On both nights, spraying will begin at 8 p.m. and is expected to conclude around midnight. According to the Village of Orland Park’s official Facebook page, this preventive measure aims to reduce the mosquito population, mitigating the risk of West Nile Virus transmission.
Residents are advised to stay indoors during spraying hours and keep windows closed. SCCMAD recommends removing standing water from properties, which can serve as mosquito breeding sites. More details and updates on the mosquito control operations can be found at SCCMAD’s official website.
