Orland Park, Ill. — The Village of Orland Park announced in a press release on July 7 that the Orland Park Village Board approved a new contract for police supervisors. The approval is of a new collective bargaining agreement with the Orland Park Police Supervisors Association (OPPSA). The OPPSA represents sergeants and lieutenants in the Orland Park Police Department.

The contract supersedes the previous contract, which ended two years prior. During the Village Board meeting on Monday night, Mayor Jim Dodge noted the necessity of the contract and the hard work of the Orland Park Police Department.

“It is regrettable that the sergeants and lieutenants of the Orland Park Police have endured more than two years without a contract,” Dodge said. “This new agreement is poised to enhance public safety and uplift morale within the department. Morale is crucial in any profession, especially for those whose jobs involve risking their lives.”

The new agreement prioritizes public safety in Orland Park and is meant to improve morale within the police department.

“We are grateful for the new Village leadership under Mayor Dodge, who has demonstrated a clear intention to mend the relationship between our Union and the Village,” an OPPSA spokesperson said at the board meeting. “ We extend our thanks to him and the Village Board for their decisive actions to restore our career progression through this contract and for collaborating with both Police Department Unions to drive the Department forward.”
