
Orland Park, IL – The Village of Orland Park is gearing up for a festive Thanksgiving week packed with community events, races, and family fun. The celebration includes the Kids’ Turkey Trot and Diaper Dash, Turkey Shoot Free-Throw Contest, and the 37th Annual Orland Park Turkey Trot.

According to the Village of Orland Park, the holiday festivities begin Saturday, November 22, with the Kids’ Turkey Trot and Diaper Dash at the Orland Park Sportsplex, 11351 W. 159th St. Races run from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. and are open to children ages 1–10. Registration ranges from $6 to $20 depending on residency and membership.
The fun continues Sunday, November 23, with the Turkey Shoot Free-Throw Contest from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Sportsplex. Teams of one parent and one child will compete for a Thanksgiving turkey, with entry fees between $5 and $10.
The week’s main event, the 37th Annual Turkey Trot, steps off Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, November 27, at 8 a.m. The 2.5-mile chip-timed race is officially sold out, drawing 1,000 runners and walkers through scenic local routes.
