Orland Park, IL – The Village of Orland Park Veterans Advisory Board is once again spreading holiday cheer to U.S. service members through its annual “Cookies for the Troops” collection drive, which runs November 7–19.

According to the Village of Orland Park, residents are encouraged to donate packaged cookies (store-bought or bakery), candy, hot chocolate, and small decorations to be sent to troops stationed overseas during the holidays. Supporters are also invited to include a signed holiday card or personal letter with their donations.

Drop-off locations include several village facilities: Orland Park Village Hall (14700 S. Ravinia Ave.), Sportsplex (11351 W. 159th St.), Orland Park Health & Fitness (14921 S. Ravinia Ave.), and the Franklin Loebe Center (14650 S. Ravinia Ave.).

Additional collection events will be held at Apple Chevrolet (8585 W. 159th St.) on Friday, November 7, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., and at the Orland Park Public Library (14921 S. Ravinia Ave.) on Saturday, November 15, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Community members are encouraged to take part and help bring a taste of home to those serving abroad this holiday season.
