Orland Hills, IL Walmart Crash: Elderly Man Struck in Parking Lot

Orland Hills, IL – Police are asking for the public’s help after an elderly man was struck by a vehicle in the parking lot of a Walmart on Thursday afternoon.

According to the Orland Hills Police Department, the incident happened on Sept. 18, 2025, at 2:23 p.m. outside the Walmart near the store’s south doors and handicapped parking area. Authorities said the man was walking through the lot when he was hit by a vehicle that was backing out of a parking space.

Several people came to the man’s aid, including the driver of the vehicle that struck him, police said. The victim’s condition has not been released.

Investigators are now seeking to speak with anyone who witnessed the crash, has additional information, or may have video of the incident.
