Medford, OR – A winter weather advisory remains in effect for parts of southern Oregon, with up to 7 inches of snow and wind gusts reaching 40 mph expected by late Friday night.
According to the National Weather Service in Medford, the advisory covers the Klamath Basin, Northern and Eastern Klamath County, and Western Lake County, including Klamath Falls, Chemult, and Crescent. The heaviest snowfall is expected along Highway 97 north of Klamath Falls and Highway 140 east of the city, where travel could become hazardous.
The advisory is in place from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday, with snowfall amounts varying by location. Areas above 1500 feet in Douglas, Curry, Josephine, and Jackson counties could see up to 2 inches of snow, while higher elevations near Toketee Falls may receive up to 10 inches. Wind gusts between 35-55 mph may cause blowing snow and reduced visibility.
