Portland, OR – Snowfall continues to impact multiple regions in Oregon and southern Washington, with winter weather advisories in effect until Monday morning, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Portland.
According to the NWS, areas above 1,000 feet in Hood River Valley and Lane County Cascade Foothills could see up to 2 inches of additional snow by 4 a.m. Monday. The North Oregon Coast Range and Washington’s Willapa and Wahkiakum Lowlands may receive 1 to 3 inches of snowfall, extending their advisory until 10 a.m. Monday.
Higher elevations in the Oregon and Washington Cascades are expected to see heavier snowfall, with up to 10 inches accumulating above 5,500 feet. Gusty winds up to 35 mph could create additional hazards.
Roads, particularly bridges and overpasses, are likely to become slick and hazardous. Officials urge drivers to carry winter emergency kits, including blankets, water, food, and tire chains.
