Medford, OR – A powerful winter storm is bringing heavy snow and dangerous road conditions to Southern Oregon and Northern California. The most significant snowfall is expected Monday morning, potentially disrupting travel on I-5 near Siskiyou Summit.
According to the National Weather Service, a Winter Storm Warning is in effect until 4 p.m. Monday. Snow accumulations of 12 to 24 inches are expected in the Southern Oregon Cascades, impacting areas such as Diamond Lake, Howard Prairie, and Crater Lake.

Authorities urge residents to delay unnecessary travel. If driving is unavoidable, motorists should use extreme caution, allow extra travel time, and carry emergency supplies. Roads, especially mountain passes, may become impassable.

• Monday:Heavy snow continues, high near 30°F. Hazardous conditions expected.
• Tuesday:Snow showers taper off, temperatures rise slightly to 35°F.
• Wednesday:Cloudy with a chance of flurries, high of 37°F.
• Thursday & Friday:Partly cloudy with highs in the 40s, roads may remain icy.
