EUGENE, Ore. – A wet start to the weekend will give way to a stretch of warm, sunny days in western Oregon as rain chances taper off by Saturday afternoon. Showers are expected to linger overnight and into the morning, but clearer skies will follow.
According to the National Weather Service in Portland, scattered showers will move through Eugene before 11 a.m. Saturday with a 50 percent chance of rain. Conditions will gradually improve with sunshine breaking through by afternoon. Saturday night will stay mostly cloudy with lows dipping into the upper 40s.
By Sunday, drier weather takes hold across the Willamette Valley. Eugene will see highs near 72 degrees under mostly sunny skies, while winds from the north may gust up to 18 mph. From Monday through Tuesday, temperatures will climb into the upper 70s with clear skies and calm evenings — an unseasonably warm stretch for early October.
Residents can expect a shift back to cooler, unsettled conditions by midweek with another chance of showers returning Wednesday and Thursday. Until then, the region enjoys several days of ideal fall weather.
