Medford, OR – Below-normal temperatures and a mix of rain and mountain snow are expected across southern Oregon through midweek, according to the National Weather Service in Medford. The week begins cold and wet before conditions turn drier and slightly warmer toward the weekend.

Showers are forecast to develop Sunday night into Monday, particularly along the coast and Umpqua region. The heaviest rain and snow will hit the Cascades, with snow levels dropping to around 4,500 feet along the western slopes and 5,000 feet farther east. Higher elevations like Crater Lake could receive up to six inches of snow.

From Tuesday through Thursday, light showers may linger over southern Klamath and Lake counties, with snow levels rising to 5,500–6,500 feet, limiting snow accumulation. Temperatures will remain cool through midweek, before gradually warming to near-seasonal highs by Friday and Saturday.

Looking ahead, a cold front arriving Sunday, October 19, could bring another round of widespread rainfall, though snow is expected to stay minimal due to warmer air aloft.

Residents are advised to monitor forecasts and use caution when traveling through higher elevations, as slick roads and reduced visibility are possible early in the week.
