Portland, Oregon – After three days of spring sunshine and warming temperatures, Portland residents should prepare for a shift beginning Thursday night as showers roll into the region and continue into the weekend.
According to the National Weather Service, Portland will enjoy clear skies through Wednesday night, with daytime highs climbing from 65°F on Tuesday to near 77°F by Thursday. Calm conditions and light northwesterly winds are expected. However, a 30% chance of rain begins after 11 p.m. Thursday, increasing to likely showers on Friday—especially after 11 a.m.—as temperatures fall back to a high near 59°F.
Thursday’s change will mark the end of a warm stretch that includes the city’s warmest temperatures since early April. Residents in Multnomah and surrounding counties should expect damp commutes and possible delays Friday morning. Roads like I-5 and I-84 may see slick spots as the front moves through.
To stay prepared, residents are encouraged to carry umbrellas, check for local alerts, and plan any outdoor activities before Thursday evening. The rain is expected to linger through the weekend, with on-and-off showers continuing into Sunday.
More updates are expected as the front develops. Rain chances remain in the forecast through at least Sunday night.
