Eugene, Oregon – Thunderstorms could rattle Eugene Tuesday afternoon, with lightning and brief downpours likely to disrupt commutes along I-105 and Beltline Highway after 2 p.m.

According to the National Weather Service in Portland, there’s a 50% chance of showers and isolated thunderstorms developing in Lane County between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 13. Light winds from the west-southwest at 3 to 7 mph will accompany the unstable air, but severe weather is not expected. Rainfall amounts will stay light—less than a quarter inch overall—but isolated storms could produce heavier pockets of rain.

Temperatures will hover around 61°F Tuesday before dipping to 46°F overnight as skies begin to clear. The rest of the week offers a return to calmer spring conditions. Wednesday will be mostly cloudy with a mild high of 63°F, and skies gradually clear into Thursday and Friday, when highs climb to the upper 60s and low 70s.

Heading into the weekend, Eugene will enjoy partly sunny skies on Saturday with a high near 65°F and dry conditions continuing into Sunday.
